Ziggy MacKenzie
Ziggy MacKenzie is one of Australia’s fastest rising talents who started surfing in Uluwatu Bali but now resides at Burleigh and a member of the Burleigh Boardriders.
Ziggy won the ISA U/16 girls World Junior title in 2023 and took out her first open QS event in 2024.
She was on track to win the u/18 girls ISA World Junior title but had to withdraw from the competition due to a mcl injury.
But instead of returning home she chose to stay with the Australian Irukandjis Team cheering them on to win the World Junior Teams title.
Ziggy is a star pupil of the COOEE program that allows high performance athletes to study away from school while competing. The WSCC is grateful that Ziggy has taken time out of her hectic schedule to be a key speaker
At only 16 years of age Ziggy represents the future of surfing and how the youth of today view the future and what must be done.
